introduction
Hello my name is Nathan Burton I really created this blogger account to keep track of my running progress and to talk to other runners to get advice from them and maby to get other people to follow my blogs and make new friends. Currently im 14 and im about to be a freshmen at John Hay School of Archetecture and Design. But im feeling good today just did a short 2 mile run to since I was in a hurry to go to Wild Water Kingdom. Tomarrow im thinking about running 10mile tomarrow and maby go back in the evening. My interest when I grow up is to be an elite marathon runner or a elite ultra marathon runner and being a construction worker on the side. I might not be the best at those sports when I get older since im not from those high elevation places and I never had any training advice or been on a real track team. The reasons why I run run is to do it for fun, to relieve stress, and give me something to do. Most of my running is on the track but its starting to get boring running up there everyday, it has gotten to the point that I get track sick from going around in circles all day, but hopefully I will not be running there to much longer because cross country tryouts starts August 1st cant wait for that. People actually talk to me since they see me at the track all the time and they be track coaches and track teams be talking to me wanting me to join there team and they tell me to work on my speedwork. I say I will do it but it really hurts and I have to take out a couple of days because my legs be hurting like crazy for a couple of weeks. I actually trained with a track team but they didnt have any distance runners they only had sprinters. He told me I had to work on my speedwork. So he had me running uphills, sprinting 200m then jog back 10 times and stuff like that. Then he entered me into a track meet my legs was hurting after all that different training. He had me doing the 3000m, 1500m, on day 1, then tommarow I do the 800m relay then the 800m. During the 3000m I was racing against a 17 year old and two 11 year olds. Me and the 17 year old actually became good friends but it sucks that we live on two different parts of ohio. Maby I will see him during cross country season. But during allmy races i was the only one without track spikes I was just wearing my trashed Saucony Bullets. During the race start I kept up wit h the 17 year old for a while then he started pulling away we both laped the two 11year olds twice or triple times. But he lapped me during the last lap. During the last lap my track coach kept yelling at me telling me to sprint the last lap but im a crappy sprinter and my legs was so much in pain I couldnt but I did it though. But I came in 1st in my age group since I didnt have any compitition. But I couldnt stand my coach because he was yelling at me with his competetive ego. But I ended up finishing the 3000m in 12 or 11 min. During the 1500m I came in 2nd in my age group but came in 7th over all. The one in my age group came in 2nd or 3rd over all. And the sickest part of it is they run 1500m faster than I could sprint. At the end of the race we were just talking about how mcuh milege we do a week I do 32-48miles a week they all did 20miles a week. I was shocked they are faster than me but they cant run as long as me so that got me interested in doing ultramarathons and stuff. During the 800m I came in 2nd to last they run fast. But I became good friends with them to but they all live on another part of ohio to. The only distance runners in cleveland are me and my friend eddie are the only ones. And all the rest are from the west side of cleveland or from akron or other places. In the 800m relay my team came in first because it was only one team we competed against and they were younger than us. But a week after that track meet I was going to track practice and after that I went into my book bag and I noticed my phone was gone. I went up to the tack coach ask him can he call my phone because I think it got stolen or lost. He called it and he acted like someone answered it and start acitng like he was yelling over the phone with someone who stole my phone but then he started laughing saying that noone answered and he pretty much made a joke out of it and everyone else laughed to with him and they all started teasing me. So I just decided to never run with them anymore. Right now he's been trying to look for me since I was the only one who had qualifyed for the regionals. And the only student who actually did all my training without cheating. So now im just training by myself again. My training plan is to run 2 hours straight in the morning and maby whatever how many miles i want to do in the evening (no sprinting). I really got tired of running competativly anyway. It almost got me burned out. I also hate it when people and other coaches ask me who do I run for. I dont run for anyone I run for my own fun. I run to earn friends, have fun, and to relieve stress. I dont want to do it for money, fortune and fame. Well maby sometimes just in case I get tired of life kicking my ass. But it might not come to that im use to being poor. My parents divorced because my dad cheated on my mom and my parents dont have enough money to buy me expensive shoes. I dont really have any friends my age i can hang around because there probly playing the game or playing basketball which i have no idea how to play and i never get picked. So my only friends are me my feet and my saucony bullets. Im maby thinking about just going barefoot since I dont have any cushioning in my shoes anyway. But im hoping to do an ultramarathon soon if the let me do it. I really want to do the Burning River 100 august 1st but thats the day of my cross country tryouts.
